At the Expressive Rights Alliance, we collaborate to protect freedoms and advance opportunities for those who work in Washington’s adult entertainment community. 11 of the 12 nightclub venues in the State of Washington, as well as dancers and staff, participate in the Expressive Rights Alliance to lead the way towards a more inclusive and safer environment for enjoying adult entertainment.
Adult nightclubs support thousands of high-paying low-barrier entry jobs. Entertainers are a legally recognized profession and hold occupational licenses authorized by local governments. Adult nightclubs employ DJs, hosts, servers, marketing staff, and many more. Legal and well-regulated venues for adult entertainment serve an important role in empowering marginalized communities and guarding against sexual exploitation.
The Expressive Rights Alliance brings together all aspects of the state’s adult entertainment community to propose smarter public policies and improve internal operations within nightclubs. Positive changes are possible through a robust system of rights that recognizes bodily autonomy and destigmatize sexual expression.
